Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Extended Holiday

I enjoyed my Thanksgiving weekend in the Bay Area so much that it was really difficult to return to work on Monday. The combination of great food, family long-missed and the familiar smell of the hometown where I grew up brought me so much joy. Before I headed back to L.A. on my 6 hour car ride (which turned out to be 8 hours - thank you 405), I saw Christmas lights appear along my street where I used to play. It was such a happy and sad moment altogether! To make things better at my current home, I  added some holiday decorating to lift the spirits. Dear December, I welcome you with open arms!

It's Getting Chili

Warm weather means hearty meals and a bigger appetite. I've been craving a good bowl of chili with all of the healthy goodies inside. A good homemade bowl of chili is not complete without diced avocados, red onion and a dash of lime juice. Below is my favorite chili recipe, a perfect fit for an Autumn evening. Bon Appetit! XOXO 

Chili Ingredients:

• 1 yellow onion, sliced
• 1 tablespoon of chili powder
• 1 teaspoon of cumin
• 1 can of diced tomatoes, no salt added
• 2 cans of Pinto Beans
• 1 bell pepper, chopped 
• 2 cups of cooked ground turkey

Toppings (amount served is up to you!) 

• Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese
• Diced red onion
• Avocado
• Parsley 
• Lime Juice

Instructions: Saute onion for 5 minutes in a medium saucepan then add spices and tomatoes. Stir for two minutes and add beans and bell peppers. Let the ingredients simmer on low heat for 30 minutes before adding the ground turkey. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes and serve with toppings.
