Turning 26 is going to be great. It's already feeling great so far. I got to open my birthday gift a month early this year - a trip to Washington D.C.

D.C. is one of those places I've always kept close to my heart. Even though I've only visited once (I was 13) I never stopped dreaming of revisiting our nation's capital. I'm not sure if it was because I visited shortly after graduating from 8th Grade U.S. History or if it was the strong sense of patriotism and the beautiful 'monumental' statues and architecture that kept me in love. Either or, I am ecstatic that I get to enjoy my birthday celebrating a vacation at one of my favorite places in the world.
